Job Summary

The Simulink Model Management Quality Engineer is responsible for developing test suites and conducting hands-on testing of the MathWorks Simulink product. As a member of the Model Management Development team, the candidate will participate in projects from their early design stages and play a key role in driving high quality software to final product release.

Responsibilities

• Writing and executing test plans and procedures for Simulink Model Management features.
• Writing automated test suites using MATLAB to test functionality of Simulink Blocks.
• Executing the interactive testing on UNIX and PC platforms.
• Detecting and reporting on bugs found in MATLAB, Simulink, and the various Toolboxes using an in-house bug tracking system.
• Participating in design reviews and code reviews.
• As an individual contributor in the QE department, the candidate will work closely with Simulink Model Management Development, QE, and Documentation teams and will work occasionally with Technical Support.

Qualifications

• MS in engineering, physics, computer science or math required.
• Specialization in modeling & simulation and control systems is preferred.
• 1-3 years programming experience with MATLAB.
• 1-3 years programming experience with Simulink.
• Experience with C, C++.
• Solid interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work on a small team.
• Flexibility to take on varied tasks.
• Attention to detail is an essential characteristic.

Plusses:
• Knowledge of DSP, Aerospace, Automotive or similar domains.
• Familiarity with Make-files/shell scripting/Perl/Python, etc.
• Knowledge of industry standards, and methods of Software Development and Quality Engineering.
• Experience with testing tools (such as memory, performance, code coverage etc.).
• Test automation experience.
• Experience with embedded systems and/or code generation.
