General Motors Executive Delivers Keynote at The MathWorks International Automotive Conference 2005
Automotive Manufacturers, Suppliers, Customers, and Industry Experts to Discuss Successful Applications of Model-Based Design

What: The MathWorks International Automotive Conference (IAC) 2005, which provides a forum for manufacturers and suppliers and MathWorks industry experts to exchange ideas, discuss innovative technologies, and highlight successful implementations of Model-Based Design with MATLAB ® and Simulink ®.

The MathWorks fifth annual International Automotive
Conference will feature customer presentations on the successful implementation of Model-Based Design with industry-standard
software MATLAB and Simulink, as well as sessions and master classes taught by experts from The MathWorks. Over three
hundred conference participants from around the world are expected to attend the event.
This year’s keynote
address “Math-Based Design and Engineering at General Motors” will be delivered by Larry Burns, Ph.D., vice president,
research & development and strategic planning, General Motors Corporation. With more than 35 years of experience
at GM, Burns oversees advanced technology and innovation programs and also is responsible for the company’s product,
capacity, and business plans.
As part of the program, customer presentations will highlight the ways The MathWorks
Model-Based Design offers significant time and cost-savings by reducing engineering time to enable faster vehicle production.
MathWorks customer presenters include representatives from Argonne National Laboratory, Continental Teves AG & Co. oHG,
Cosworth Technology Inc., DaimlerChrysler AG, Delphi Corporation, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, IAV Automotive Inc.,
Jaguar Cars Ltd., Siemens VDO, and Visteon Corporation.
Attendees can also take part in master classes and presentations
led by MathWorks experts on topics including:
- Automatically Generating Production Code for Control Systems
- Fixed-Point DSP Modeling, Code Generation, and Verification for FPGAs
- Advanced Programming Tips and Techniques for MATLAB 7
- Developing Video and Image Processing Applications in Simulink
