Porsche Executive to Give Keynote at MathWorks Automotive Conference 2008


Annual Meeting of MathWorks Experts and Users of Model-Based Design in the Development of Automobile Systems Takes Place 3–4 June 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany


CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom. - (02 Jun, 2008)

The MathWorks today announced that the MathWorks Automotive Conference (MAC) 2008 will be held June 3-4, 2008 at the Liederhalle Cultural and Congress Centre in Stuttgart, Germany.

Customers and MathWorks experts will give presentations on the latest trends in electronics development in the automobile industry and outline the successful use of Model-Based Design . Master classes will provide greater depth about subjects including AUTOSAR, verification and validation, and physical modeling. More than 500 delegates are expected to attend the conference from the international and German automobile industry. Armin Müller, head of innovations and concepts at Porsche, will be giving the keynote address entitled “Inspiring Automobiles—Electronic Systems as Significant Contributors and the Challenge of Dealing with Complexity.”

Presentations and case studies by leading international automotive manufacturers and suppliers, including Aisin AW, American Axle Manufacturing, Argonne National Laboratory, Audi, Continental, Daimler, Ford Motor Company, Institute Français du Pétrole, Jaguar, and the Red Bull Formula 1 Team.

  • Master Classes

Master classes taught by MathWorks engineering staff will cover topics such as production code generation; modeling multidomain physical systems in Simulink; and verification, validation, and test.

During the event, the latest control unit development technologies using Model-Based Design will be presented and discussed with reference to various automotive systems, including powertrain, chassis, and body electronics. A technical exhibition will run alongside the event, allowing more than 20 partner companies of The MathWorks to present their solutions for the automobile industry on the basis of MATLAB, Simulink, and other MathWorks tools.
