Inverse error function

Syntax

X = erfinv(Y)

Description

X = erfinv(Y) returns the value of the inverse error function for each element of Y. Elements of Y should be in the interval [-1 1] or the function will return NaN. The function erfinv satisfies y = erf(x) for −1 ≤ y ≤ 1 and −∞ ≤ x ≤ ∞.

Examples

erfinv(1) is Inf

erfinv(-1) is -Inf.
