What is the equivalent matlab function for “ctrl+c” ?

I want to implement the abort (Ctrl+C) function in my GUI application.
Basic Functionality of my application:-
Take list of calibration and parse it through number of *.m files picking up the corresponding calibration values from *.m files and creating a xml files.
Problem description : -
Once I started my application its enter into a looping. Even if I click on my Abort button in my application is responding very late. Basically the problem is priority of function call. Purpose of Abort functionality:- If user is giving 50 *.m files and they want to terminate process in between 10th or 15th file.
_Query :-
Now, in my GUI I want to implement Abort function (equivalent to “Ctrl+c” in matlab command prompt). Can you suggest me some solution. Like how to make my abort function as high priority
